Hearing it rise over the past few days I've thought about... - buying everything I ever needed from the US, now. - buying american dollars, expecting it to drop - panicking, because a part of my world paradigm just shifted.
That's one of the things we've been doing for months now... Ordering from Amazon.com (NOT .ca). They still ship from their Canadian warehouse, but they charge in US $, there's no duty or tax, and things end up a whole lot cheaper.
It's also one of the big arguments against allowing the Canadian dollar to stay high; we'll all spend our money in the US and not in Canada. Though, when we're buying from Amazon and Safeway, how is it any different?

Buy gold, Americans. And at least two foreign currencies.
