No, dear, "natural strawberry flavour" does NOT come from strawberries. It comes from a bunch of things, like rosehip and tree bark from I forget what tree. Cooked strawberries do not have a smell.

Natural _anything_ flavour usually doesn't come from the object it's emulating.

Weird... I'm thinking of them stewed... it's mostly a "sweet" smell the way I'm thinking of it. Not an artificial-strawberry flavor.

Artificial strawberry flavouring (like in Starburst candy) is made from yutzing around with "smell compounds" called esthers. I can tell artificial fruit smells.

What they call "natural strawberry flavour" (like Four Season's Strawberry tea) is rosehip, some other berry (mulberry?), tree bark. It smells A LOT like what strawberry should smell like.

I was just jolting someone out of their fog. "Just because it's labelled '100% natural' doesn't mean it actually IS what you think it is and doesn't mean it can't kill you".
