Holiday Greetings

I'm convinced latraviata is a Muse. =)

I got a handmade greeting card from latraviata! =) Wow, it's an ingenious way to use stationery, it's simple, but very very cool =) She goes bananas with her stamps all over the envelope, the card itself and there are cool bookmarks included =D

Now, I'm getting ideas on how to use all the leftover Hello Kitty and Sanrio stationery I have!! =)

*grin* i dragged poor chris all over the mall for just the right kind of stationary. although deceptively simple, the stamping part was actually the most time-consuming since i had to wait for the first "layer" to dry before stamping other colors (so they wouldn't run together).

i'm glad you liked it and it gave you ideas. i'm eyeing some martha stewart ideas for next year.

I have plans for some postcards made out of leftover Hello Kitty candy wrappers. =)

My armload of Hello Kitty candy is at work right now where I'm encouraging people to eateateateat and leave me the wrapper =) I'm going to see about getting plain 4x6 cards from the Dollar Store and see what I come up with =D I did a trial one last night =)

I got 4x6 blank index cards today... they feel a little thin though, I don't know if it'll hold up to Post Office abuse.

What kind of card stock do you make yours from?

Re:
actually, i do use index cards. i figure they're about as thin as the reply cards from magazines. i haven't heard anyone getting any damaged. although, i've have gotten regular cards rather chewed up looking.

it's been said though they should at least be as thick as the cardboard of a cereal box.

I had thought of laminating them, but that would be an extra expense. Especially now that I've ruined my little laminating machine.

I'll just do a few (one of them will be yours =) and see how it goes.

Re:
i've been thinking about buying contact paper. it's not too expensive and you get a ton of it.
