Okay. Everyone and their Mother's Sister will be talking about What Happened Tonight I, What Happened Tonight II, What Happened III and What Happened: Episode One, The Prequel.
I don't think I need to rehash. Yes, I think we deserved it. But I know that the Olympic Games is nothing about who actually does the best anymore. It does not stand for integrity. It does not stand for good sportsmanship or fair play. And in that sense, I do not consider the Olympics a serious competition.
About the only thing I paid much attention to was the music. Elena Berezhnaya and Anton Sikharulidze used Jules Massenet's Meditation. My favorite rendition of Meditation is my little brother's. Maybe it's a slightly biased opinion (heh). My brother's unaccompanied solo swept me at the most important sequences and the held long notes moved me to tears in a way that neither Nigel Kennedy's nor Itzhak Perlman's does.
The other piece that got me was the Russian National Anthem. Damn! Russia has the nicest military uniforms and the best music. I'm looking around Morpheus right now for stuff =) I have one sung by the Russian Red Army Choir and it's INCREDIBLE.
