My Weight

[weather|cloudy & freezing][water|5 by 1817h]
[mood|okay]

I weighed myself this morning and I'm at 112 pounds where I'm most comfortable. This puts my BMI at 20.5. They say I can be anything from 101 up to 135 pounds and still be considered normal, but I know I shouldn't be outside of 110 - 115 pounds.

Has anyone ever heard that it's bad for you to eat a meal close to bedtime? I vaguely know of this. I'm a bit worried because Bungo and I go home late and, as a result, have dinner late (2030h or 2100h). We go to bed around 2300h to midnight, so it's a few hours.

Well I haven't heard any scientific evidence that supports such a claim. But I've heard the elders in my family make that point often. Personally, if I go to bed on a full stomach, I just feel sick! (I could get away with gaining 30+ lbs though...)

Heh, yeah, same here. I keep hearing it from The Village Elders =)

Gain it slowly. Your knees and hips need time to get used to carrying around the extra weight. I'm already noticing my knees feeling funny from this last bit of weight gain - I probably wouldn't have felt anything if it weren't for this danged sub-zero temperatures we've been having!! >=O

Gain it slowly.

*sigh* If only it was so easy... To gain wait that is. Last summer I went on a 12 day Mediterranean cruise. Every day, every meal, I ate from start to finish: appetizer, soup, salad, main course, dessert (if applicable). Ate meat (eg. prime rib or steak) for dinner every night too.

What did I have to show for after 12 days of gluttony? Nothing. Not a single pound gained. What a waste of good food.

Re:
I think the sea air does something to your metabolism. I know it at least increases your appetite.

I have another friend who did the same thing, went on a cruise and gorged herself. She was pissed off at gaining de nada poundage as well.

Have you tried working out to gain muscle mass?

On and off, yeah. But I should do it properly, on a regular basis...

DIE, die, die, die, die, die...

Sorry about that. Just wait until your late twenties... when your metabolism takes a hike. I used to eat 3,000+ fat saturated calories a day and was in great shape. Now I eat ~1,500 and am still a blimp man. It aint pretty.

Ok I can't wait till my late twenties then. I need to gain a bunch of weight so I don't get knocked around in ice hockey! :)

However, I'm still skeptical...
