Clearly you need to move closer to the equator.

The bad part about moving closer to the equator is it doesn't give you more daylight hours. In the winter it does, but the days are shorter in the summer. When I went to Hawaii, in Feb it got dark at 7:30 PM. Apparently in the summer it also gets dark at 7:30. I like it getting dark at 9:30 in the summer! (course I hate it getting dark at 5 in the winter!)

Re:
I can handle even day light and darness. It's the extremes in the winter that make me bonkers. In gets dark at 3:45-3:50 PM around here in late December. That's just whacky.

Oh that's cuz you live way up north in the nether wastelands of the USA. Here in Ohio it gets dark around 5 in the winter (it's up to 6:30 or so now) and 9:30 in the summer. Getting dark before 4 PM is just craziness. Maybe you should move closer to the equator? :-)
