Hi,

There's was a strange deposit of $1,525.10 to my account ###############. The description is "RFX - DEPOSIT -REF ###############". And that same amount has been withdrawn today.

I thought I knew what it was, but now that it's been withdrawn, I'm curious... What just happened? =}

My Lady of the First House:

We have received your message asking for additional information on a deposit and withdrawal from your account of $1,525.10.

RFX means Royal Foreign Exchange and normally describes any transactions involving non-Canadian funds. This includes transactions involving a US Dollar Personal Account with RBC Royal Bank, purchases of traveller s cheques, and purchases of money orders or cash in foreign currencies.

The 'RFX - DEPOSIT -REF ###############' was a deposit of a cheque for $1000 US.

It appears this transaction was an error as 'RFX - WITHDRAWAL -REF ###############' is the withdrawal of the $1000 US dollar cheque from your account.

Please accept my apologies for any confusion and inconvenience this may have caused.

Thank you for your message, Ma'am. Please do not hesitate to contact us again through this message centre or by phone at 1-800-769-2555, if we may be of further assistance. If you are outside of Canada or the United States, call us collect at 506-864-1555.

Sincerely,

Brenda

*siiiiiiiiiiiiigh* For a brief moment, I thought somebody loved me. They gave me US$1000.00 ... *siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh*

That's so unfair. *pout* *pout* If they boo-boo in my favour like that, I should get to keep the money =D

It's funny that this came right after buttaflii and I were going back and forth about "only hugely rich people say stuff like, 'money doesn't buy happiness'" and "I'll take some of that non-happiness off your shoulders and if it makes you feel better, I'll GLADLY take LOTS of non-happiness from you regularly. Like forever." =)

Be glad that the exchange rate didn't change between.

I can see it now some american bank or corporation makeing the error. the rate changes and the enxt day wthey reverse the entry in us$.

...

Actually, You should have approached it differently.

Without asking about the deposit you should have asked why the money was withdrawn from your account without your permission.
