Quadrually Productive

weather: sunny
outside: 21°C
mood: accomplished

Friday was a quadrually productive day. I got two automated tools running doing regression testing with a few hundred files. Eventually, it'll be thousands of files. Better a machine do it overnight than me, manually.

I wrote one other Perl script that takes the Performance run results, cuts it up, does some deltas, means, standard deviations, variances, (jeez, and I thought my Stats courses were just filler... who knew that the ANOVA would actually come in handy =). It spits it out into an Excel spreadsheet where I want it with different colours - ie. in red if the result is more than 3 st.dev. from the norm, that kinda thing. That was total overkill, but the Project Lead had a laugh over my way-overkill-ness. S'all good =)

And while my scripts were running, I also worked on a new journal layout design for the zhongwen community. As a matter of fact, I'm sporting it on my own journal right now. =) Come see, and give me feedback. There are some details that I'm not too happy about, but I want to see if other people notice it too, or if I've just been staring at it too long.

I don't have access to do it in the zhongwen account, so I decided to test it out here first. I'll move it over once katie_ah approves =)

This morning, I went to Fitness Unlimited with Husband Guy and got myself added on to his membership as family. Worked out for half an hour while Husband Guy played basketball. Yay! Exercise is a good thing.

Gah! Farking hotmail!

Anyway...you know...I'm on an ethernet conncention at work with a nice big monitor...and since we are both co-owners of the community...it sounds selfish, but I like it the way it is! I mean...your right, Chinese paintings have to have the poem...I like it. I say stick with it.

You just gave me an idea for my own LJ...I have a poem the I had written for me in Hangzhou (look on my userinfo) that would be cool to have put to the left of my LJ. Are there "calligraphy" style fonts out there for Chinese? I remember when I was IN China, I had them...then I would have to make it into a .jpg or .gif...Do you think it's possible, allmighty techieguru??

But again, I think we should keep your style the way it is, it is 最美丽.

Heh, okay =)

I have a Kai font that I can send you, which is the nice neat calligraphy font you see in kids text books. I took it from my Chinese Win98 operating system so, it may or may not work with Photoshop or other graphics applications. It did strange things in Paint Shop Pro for me.

I haven't been able to find a nice artistic calligraphy font that I like though.

Hmmm. OK. I think I'm going to go over to a friends house this week and I'll make him DL some fonts and make some graphics for me- seeing as I'm completely inept. I'll let you know if I want you to send them to me.

(The strangest thing: I was just about to add you to my friends list seeing as how I check your LJ and talk to you enough anyway. You got to me first though! Hahah.)
