Extra Vacation Time

weather: cloudy
outside: 8°C
mood: pensive

Office Manager Lady called me to say that I have 14 vacation days left in 2002. I can carry over 5 days to 2003, but that leaves me with 9 days to polish off for this year. I'm using 4 of those days to make my Year End holidays into a complete 2 weeks off (our company is closed between Christmas and New Year's anyways, so I don't have those days to worry about).

I hate taking more than a week off at a time... the Year End holidays are an exception because everyone else is taking time off too. The last time I took a whole blob of time off was for my Engagement/Honeymoon/Vacation to Japan and Taiwan. I only officially took three weeks, but I was gone for about a month. When I came back, it took a while for the bunch to remember that I was back and take more time out of being busy to carve things off to me.

I don't have anywhere to go or anything to do. Well, that's not true, there's tons of stuff to do, but they all cost money and I don't want to do it. Husband Guy won't be able to take time off before the end of this year and I really don't want to do anything without him, seeing as how we don't spend enough time together as it is. I don't want to hang out at home, but other than work, there's really no other place [with an internet connection] I'd want to be all day.

Maybe I'll phone up the Variety Club and see if they have some interesting events or could use a volunteer for a week. I know they're doing gift wrapping at Metrotown mall and their annual Christmas party should be coming up soon.

Anyone in Vancouver getting married in December? Can I come and help? Please?

"You work too hard", Office Manager Lady says to me... *sigh*

Ha. You _so_ don't want me doing that. I'm pretty hopeless at Chinese without my computer. =D

Heh. Speaking of, I'm going to Target tonight for envelopes so I can send you your present I promised.

Anyway, right, right, right. You should come to Minneapolis anyway. Or, we could both go somewhere sans cold. I think that's a good idea.

That would be a cool idea... but just think of the money involved though >K{
