Nothing's Happening

weather: cloudy
outside: 5°C
mood: happy
There's really nothing happening in my life. I can't say much about work except that its going along smoothly, there's no craziness at all, even though the project I'm working on is for Microsoft.

I saw my MOH and her dog Minnie off at YVR this past Sunday. She's back in YYZ now. There was another dog (2 year old Doberman girl who vehemently disliked her kennel as well) and a cat on that flight with her. It sounds like Minnie survived the trip okay. She's settled into MOH's apartment, already gotten the idea that that's her new home and barking ferociously when there's a knock at the door now. =)

Husband Guy keeps asking me if I want a dog of our own. I'm not sure... if I think our dumb bird is such a pain in the ass, what makes me think I'll like an even bigger pain in the ass? I love Minnie a lot, I've babysat for Minnie... it's not the same, but still, it means I'm not totally averse to the idea.

It makes me think of what breed I'd like.

I like small dogs, but I heard they're more expensive in terms of medical care. They get injured more easily and their plumbing goes wrong easily. I love the look of Pomeranians and Toy Spitz varieties. I just like that little foxy face =) But they shed. Profusely.

Supposedly, Poodles, Bichon Frises and Malteses don't shed, but I don't know exactly how true that is. They may not shed like Minnie (just looking at her gets you a new white wooly coat), but they're furry and must shed at least a little.

I thought I might like a Border Collie. They're smart and not that small, but not too big either. But they might be too smart and would be bored senseless living with me.

Then I was thinking maybe we could get a young-ish dog (like 2-3 years old)... rescued or something, but already house trained and knows the basic "come", "sit" and "stay". Buddy-Girl-K's Mom once got a grey toy poodle (Taz) through her vet. Some lady had brought Taz to the vet, dropped her off, left fake contact info and never came back. Taz was very sweet and friendly, I never saw her really jumpy, yappy or excitable.
