I. AM. CANADIAN.

weather: drizzling
outside: 11°C
mood: playfully adamant
I've been mistaken for an American (feh, pne =D). I must rectify that bungle with a Marketing Blitz:

I am British Columbian:

I am a Vancouverite:

My airport is

and a song:

¯¯

Oh Canada, our home and native land
True patriot love in all thy sons command
With glowing hearts we see thee rise
The True North, strong and free
From far and wide, Oh Canada
We stand on guard for thee
Oh Canada, glorious and free
Oh Canada, we stand on guard for thee

Oh Canada, terre de nos aïeux,
Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux.
Car ton bras sait porter l'épée,
Il sait porter la croix.
Ton histoire est une épopée
Des plus brillants exploits.
Et ta valeur, de foi trempée,
Protégera nos foyers et nos droits,
Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.

¯¯

Oh Canada, where pines and maples grow
Great prairies spread and lordly rivers flow
How dear to us thy vast domain
From East to Western Sea
Thou land of hope for all who toil
Thou True North, strong and free

Oh Canada, beneath thy shining skies
May stalwart sons and gentle maidens rise
To keep thee steadfast through the years
From East to Western Sea
Our own beloved native land
Our True North, strong and free

Ruler supreme, who hearest humble prayer
Hold our dominion whithin thy loving care
Help us to find, Oh God, in thee
A lasting, rich reward
As waiting for the Better Day
We ever stand on guard

¯¯

¯¯

I know this place is where I am.
No other place is better than.
No matter where I go, I am
Proud to be Canadian.

I am, you know I am,
I am Canadian.

I am, you know I am,
I am Canadian.

¯¯

I love this country, where I am.
This land is where I make my stand.
Y'a pas un coeur qui est comme celui-là [No other heart is truer than]
The one we call Canadian... Canadian.

I am, you know I am,
I am Canadian.

I am, you know I am,
I am Canadian.

I am Canadian.

If it makes you feel any better, when I lived in NZ I used to get mistaken for Canadian all the time. Personally, I think it's all the "You Can't Do That on Television" I used to watch when I was a kid. ;^)

Canadian National Anthem
If you're interested, a translation of the first verse (from both the English and the French) into Mark Rosenfelder's conlang Verdurian that I made for his (old) message board on 2001-10-01 is available from my website or the message board.
