Which OS are You?
Which OS are You?

Huh. Interesting.

Anyway, when I was a wee Comp. Sci. undergrad, I was taking the Advanced Operating Systems course and I had aspirations to write my own operating system. Not entirely from scratch, but based on a very simple primitive, skeleton operating system called XINU (which is a palindrome for UNIX and also stands for "XINU Is Not UNIX" =) It had no File Management and very simplistic Memory Management.

And my operating system was going to be called "O/Some", pronounced "awesome". =P Um, yeah, I'm glad I grew out of that idea too.

I actually rather like my result
I would have prefered solaris, but this will have to do since it wasn't an option:

if you ended up with GNU/HURD it
means you didn't answer all the questions.

If I had been drinking I'm sure I would have spilled all of it out of my nose when I read that! *chuckles with mirth* *snort*

(BTW, I got debian, too.)

Hehe, I had to look up HURD after reading that =) Apparently, it's the same bunch that are working on the Mach microkernel.

Don't know about that, but in some geek circles, it's the biggest piece of vaporware behind Duke Nukem Forever.

(Well, the Hurd does exist in an early stage, but it's taken them forever and from what I gather, it's not usable for the broad public. I guess the "didn't answer all questions" refers to this vaporware status.)

I got OS/2 Warp. Interesting. I have no idea why.

It's interesting that they had HP/UX, plus multiple linux distros, yet they didn't have Solaris (or AIX or IRIX or...).

Shades of the old days, I got Amiga. Loved my Amiga..need to brush it off someday to play some more.
and O/Some sounds suspiciously like Windows 3.1. But we know you are not that old.
