Wedding Jewellery Etiquette

weather: cloudy
outside: 4°C
mood: perplexed
music: Paganini - Caprice No. 23 in Eb major, Posato
I was "asked to the Prom", as it were... which is pretty amazing for an old hag like me. It's a gala dinner cruise and I'd be going with Friend Dude. Husband Guy also knows Friend Dude and he's okay with it. He said that if I think I'll have fun, then I should go, even if I'm not going with him. I'm not so sure yet...

Question: is it appropriate to wear my wedding jewellery (engagement ring, wedding ring, anniversary band) to a formal social event as the guest of a male friend?

It's a formal event, so it would be appropriate as a part of my ensemble. I am never without my rings, so it feels strange to go without them. But, since I'm not with my husband, would it be a faux pas to be wearing them all? Since I won't know anyone there, I'm not sure I want to be in the awkward position of having people mistake me for Friend Dude's wife... ={

Opinions please... =}

Re:
Emergency band? I don't have one (just checked my post again and yes, I did spell "anniversary" right =)... Are you talking about MedicAlert bracelets?

They are gold, silver or copper-look chain bracelets that you wear on your wrist. They have your condition(s), drugs(s) you're taking and drug allergies engraved on them. EMT/Paramedics are trained to look at a person's wrists first, so if there's anything they need to know, that's where it should be.

Ahahaha! This is what happens when one does too many things at the same time. I meant "anniversary." =) I have no idea where that other word came from.

Re:
Ah, okay... =)

Anniversary bands are... well, anniversary bands. They're for anniversaries =D It can be anything you want, but the mainstream notion of it is a ring with a bunch of smaller diamonds (as opposed to an engagement ring with one prominent diamond).

It used to be that they were only for the 75th Anniversary (the "Diamond" Anniversary), but we've thrown that out the window as well. =)
