Masculine or Feminine

weather: light rain

A good friend of mine posted a link to an online version of the Bem Sex Role Inventory from the Hyde, J. S., "Half the Human Experience", Heath, 1985, Page 97-98. You're supposed to choose on a scale how much certain words apply to you. It's for entertainment purposes only and isn't supposed to mean much.

My results say:

Masculinity Score: 4.15
Femininity Score: 4.36

What does that mean?

You have reported that you characterize your self as having relatively few masculine characteristics as well as having relatively few feminine characteristics.

Huh. I'm ever so slightly more on the girlie side, but I'm neither masculine nor feminine. I guess that makes sense. I'm rather ashamed of humans in general and never quite wanted to be one anyway.

Masculinity Score: 5.1
Femininity Score: 4.05

You have scored above the cut off point in the masculinity scale. This means that you have reported that you have characteristics that are typically attributed to males.

Meh. Only according to one silly little writer. :P I don't believe in there being much differences between the genders anyways. It's a fat lot of cultural brainwashing. That opinion didn't make me very popular with my feminist sociology professors. =)

Re:
I agree with you. There are physiological differences that account for the origins of the attitudes towards the two different sexes.

I think it boils down to a lack of understanding.
