Harddrive

weather: partially sunny
outside: 12°C
mood: freaky
I thought I'd defrag my harddrive at work, I hadn't done it in a while. JeezusMaryJosephandthedonkey. Red is bad. Blue and green are good. White is free space.

*yowl* Haul out the Heisenberg Compensators, I got a doozy in the pattern buffer.

It's a lot happier now. =)

I should check my machine at home.

I miss the old Win95 defragger. It used to show you the status for each individual block. It was fascinating to watch which blocks it read, which ones it was writing, how it moved stuff. I guess it encouraged too much spectating and time wasting.

OH MY GOD!!

I wonder if I have defragging abilities on this machine. I know that last time I checked you had to be a systems administrator to do it.

I should do the one at home. Maybe that would help it's performance a little :)

Re:
I'm not sure if it does a whole lot for performance per se, but regularly zipping up stuff you don't use much and defragging is always a good idea. The drive seeker/needle doesn't have to fly around all over looking for your stuff, wearing itself out and scaring the cat. =)

PNG! PNG!
Hm, I'm rather disappointed with you. Why'd you save those pictures as JPEG? Not the most suitable format for such images... you just dropped two points on my geek scale :P

Re: PNG! PNG!
Habit, sorry.

When your fingers don't wait for the synapses to fire and they just crawl themselves down the same distance each time to pick the SaveAs format, it's hard to undo that. =P

I've noticed that JPGs in PSP 7 come out farky though.
