Friday Five - Celebrities

weather: cloudy
outside: 9°C
mood: tired
Okay, okay, so it's technically Saturday now.

1. Who is your favorite celebrity?

Everybody, together now: "Ben Heppner"!

He's fellow UBC Alumni and he has a mid to upper register to die for.

2. Who is your least favorite?

George W. Bush. He needs to die. A horrible death. Involving barbed wire. And sodium hydroxide. But not before being tried as a war criminal. Hell, the entire Bush clan can bite it.

3. Have you ever met or seen any celebrities in real life?

Husband Guy always laughs that I'm "Hob-Nobbin' with the Hoity-Toity" =D

I gawked at Gordon Campbell once.

Mitch Kosterman (Det. Horton in early season "X-Files"; Sheriff Ethan on "Smallville"). I've been out to dinner/coffee/what-not with Mitch a few times. We catch up with each other every once in a while. He's good friends with another friend of mine who comes up to Vancouver regularly.

I don't know the rest of these people as well as Mitch, but I chatted briefly with them and got a personalized autograph.

  • Ben Heppner (Heldentenor) *swoon*
  • Marina Sirtis (TNG: Deanna Troi)
  • Jonathon Frakes (TNG: William Riker)
  • Brent Spiner (TNG: Data)
  • Armin Shimmerman (DS9: Quark)
  • Nana Visitor (DS9: Kira Nerys)
  • Rene Auberjonois (DS9: Odo)
  • Avery Brooks (DS9: Benjamin Sisko)
  • Nichelle Nichols (TOS: Uhura)
  • George Takei (TOS: Hikaru Sulu) - this man has the most amazingly lovely penmanship I have seen in a long time
  • Kate Mulgrew (VOY: Katherine Janeway)
  • Ethan Philips (VOY: Neelix)
  • Jerri Taylor (Executive Producer ST:VOY)
  • Michael Pillar (Executive Producer ST:TNG/DS9/VOY)
  • David Duchovny (X-Files: Fox Mulder) - had my picture taken with him once, he has the softest brown leather jacket =)

4. Would you want to be famous? Why or why not?

Yes, but I'd want to be known for something important, like the late Dr. Michael Smith, not for something as immaterial as being totally stylin' or being a 34-21-34 (which, incidentally, I am already).

5. If you had to trade places with a celebrity for a day, who would you choose and why?

I wouldn't trade places with a celebrity. I'd prefer to trade places with the personal assistant of a sane celebrity. I'm more of a behind-the-scenes support person than one to be in the spotlight.

Kate Mulgrew is married to Tim Hagan who ran for Ohio Governor last time. I voted for him to try to oust Bob Taft (who is related to the Taft president) because Taft is screwing up our state. Hagan said some truthful thigns that Taft accused him of being pessimistic, and oh look, all the tax hikes and budget cuts are happening anyway. I think Kate would've made a nice first lady too. hehe :-)

She'd make a great first lady, I agree. =)

Wow, I found someone with a smaller waist than me. Amazing. That's a serious hourglass figure you've got there.

On the other hand, I believe you're shorter than me (I'm 5'8") so the smaller waist makes sense.

Hee, I'm 5'2", so 34-21-34 makes me "lumpy and funny-looking". =)

I am fairly certain Husband Guy would not agree with your assessment of yourself as "lumpy and funny-looking." :)

Wow... it's almost like you're a geek with an autograph collection like that :")
