IT'S HAILING?!?!

weather: HAILING
outside: 9°C
mood: WTF?!?
IN MAY?!?!?!

[Update - 1600h]

Thunder & LightningRight after it hailed, it was brilliantly sunny again. Moments after that, we had a torrential downpour. Then, it was sunny for a few hours this afternoon. Now we have thunder and lightning.

I never realized how afraid of thunder and lightning I actually am. They rarely happen while I'm awake and paying attention, so maybe it just takes a bit of getting used to.

Re: Hail
Whereas, in Texas (my current place of residence), it's more like

Et's hay-lin atsyde.

Or at least that's as close as I can get to writing down a heavy accent. :)

Re: Hail
Yeah, somehow, serennig's reply came in first, but yes, that makes sense to me. I just don't remember it ever hailing this close to summer in Vancouver.

Re: Hail
I thought about that after I sent the reply... maybe with the coastal weather in Vancouver you'd have equal chances of seeing hail...

year-round. Lucky you!

Funny...it hailed on me just the other day and I'm in the UK.
Something strange is happening to the weather...

I've noticed that too... it's gotten colder later in the winters (like February to April) than before. It's also been cold enough to snow significantly in Vancouver. Weird.

But... that's when it usually hails. Like wintersweet said... in thunderstorm season. You don't usually get that much hail in the winter, the weather system isn't usually set up for it.

Hmm... I've never thought of it that way before. It makes sense though. I just don't remember it ever hailing this close to summer.

We had some crazy weather down here, too. We went on a field trip today to the sound, so of course everyone in biology was horrified when they saw the wind and rain outside. Forty minutes later, when it was time to leave, it was clearing up, sunny, and there was only a cool breeze. It was so wierd. Now it's bright and sunny with huge black storm clouds hovering over the city.

Re:
my uncle did get hit with a piece that was almost the size of a prune, it left a big bump on his head.

Oh, ow... ={ I'm used to weird weather too, but more like sunny and raining at the same time.
