Friday Five - Product Brands; Geek Test III

weather: light rain
outside: 17°C
mood: okay
It's amazing warm today... =P

Friday Five - Product Brands

1. What brand of toothpaste do you use?

I used to use Crest, but I currently use Tom's of Maine, Spearmint Natural Toothpaste. Not sure how well it works yet, it'll be about 6 months before my next cleaning/checkup so that I can ask Dentist Man. I want to try one of their whitening ones, but the organic store near me only had the regular toothpastes.

2. What brand of toilet paper do you prefer?

Whatever is on special at Costco. BTW, I used to crumple, now I crumple in a foldy kind of way. >K}

3. What brand(s) of shoes do you wear?

Whoever makes comfy non-descript black heels that cost no more than (CDN)$20. I never look at the brand... My personal best was that few year stretch where I got imitation KEDs in black or white for $2.50/pair!!! =D

4. What brand of soda do you drink?

Coca-cola would be the brand, but I only drink Sprite. When I kicked caffeine, I could only have clear pop. Supposedly, it's illegal for clear sodas to contain caffeine in Canada. Mind you, Canada Dry and most other ginger ales are clear(ish) but still have caffeine. =P

5. What brand of gum do you chew?

Usually either Dentyne, Wrigley's Extra (usually Spearmint or Chlorophyl), but I only chew gum if it's conveniently there.

And I'm "59.1716% Geek - Extreme Geek", but I'm thinking it should be 60+.

I don't just want one, I have a 100-sided die... dice... dices... I have a fricking d100... I have a golf ball. You know what I mean!

I also have multiple sets of dice in different translucent and marbled colours.

I own lots of velvet die pouches.

I own all 7 seasons of Star Trek: TNG episodes on DVD (just deposited the rebate cheque, in fact).

I pointed out to them that their "knowing the names of 3 temperature scales and the freezing/boiling points of each" was in error. That should read "the freezing/boiling points of water in each". Every element has a different freezing and boiling point, so every single temperature point could potentially be "a" freezing point or "a" boiling point... and now that I think about it, that's also assuming a certain ambient environment pressure. Bleah. I paid attention back then just so I could TELL SOMEONE SO in the future and now I blew it. =P

I can mil. spec. solder. I learned to do it when I was 13 and my project marks beat the pants off the boys in Electronics class in highschool.

I know what a Wheatstone Bridge circuit is and built one for a multi-volt power supply. Along with a Capacitor City Strobe Light and a three-channel spectral analyzer.

I know what "modem" stands for. I should remember, the title was the only thing that didn't make me go cross-eyed on the schematic diagram =O =D

I remember using dial up internet service at 2400 baud... when 2400 was "lightning fast".

I've written command strings for Hayes compatible modems within the last few years. I was configuring auto-paging systems for clients.

I can tell by listening to the handshake that the modem didn't connect properly.

except it's a 100-sided DIE, not DICE... so you've lost a few geek points there.

Re:
Eh, English just sucks. There's die, then dice, and dices. Everything should be in Chinese.

I agree, we don't have enough letters in our alphabet.
