It's Just A Doughnut

weather: drizzling
outside: 15°C
mood: not impressed
I just tried a Krispy Kreme for the first time in my life. I had the Cinnamon Apple Filled.

Buh. It's just a doughnut. Not a particularly good one at that, either. And they're dinky little things. They're about the volume of my fist and I have tiny hands (3½" diametre fist).

And here I was preparing for orgasm. >K{

Either I have incredible orgasms and incredible doughnuts or it's All Marketing, like MicroSod and SueThemAllBucks.

Heh, yeah, I realize now that we were given the "cake" ones =)

I'll try one if/when I'm States-side one day =)

eee..you need to go back and try their original glazed one! the cinnamon apple filled does nothing to the taste buds ;p stay away from the cruellers or any other 'cake' type doughnuts -- those are really dry and yucky.

Re:
Well, we don't have Krispy Kremes here in Canada (I think there's some kind of legal fight keep them out), but a friend brought some back from the States and gave us a few.

Glazed one... ah, that explains why we got the ones we did. =) I see now...

*shudder* I despise Krispy Kreme doughnuts but everyone claims I am insane for thinking that. Mom loves them when they are hot and fresh out of the bakery. I think they had a Krispy Kreme factory place near where she lived when she was little so they would go get fresh ones each week.

Re:
aliasa told me (up there) that I should try a glazed one because the 'cake' ones are yucky. *ahem* We were given the "cake" ones. =]

No big loss, I say. =)

Aaah, I know! I mean, the donuts aren't bad but they're not amazing, either. I've had three I think, and, yeah, I enjoyed them, but the local donut shop is pretty satisfying as well! Is there a Krisy Kreme in Vancouver? I'm assuming so. There isn't one here in Bellingham (shucks, we really need to eat more in th is country...) but you don't have to go too far for one.

No, we don't have them here. I think there's a fight to keep them out of Canada. Some friends brought some back from, probably Bellingham =)

They gave us the "cake" ones which are supposed to be the yucky kind. =]

Not a big deal, I'll maybe try it if I catch the "Hot" sign on while I'm State-side one day.

Good heavens, half an hour and all these Krispy Kreme defenders/detractors... Frightening how a single food product can develop such a fan base.

We don't need to be making donuts any bigger around here. Most Americans are big enoug already. Personally, I try to stay away from them.

Try the original glazed one. It's AMAZING. Better than Tim Hortons. (Gasp... I know... where is my loyalty?!) Wait... do you guys have Timmy Ho's out in Vancouver?

Yup, we have Timmy Ho's here =)

I hope, one day, that I meet you. **looks at you strangely

It's good marketing, and an appeal to the American pallete--the thin dough, here, works as a way to move cooked grease to the mouth.

i think juky neglected to tell you that he picked the yucky 'caked' ones over the glazed ones even when he had some at my house because he likes the cream filled ones. so it's not that i gave him the caked ones cuz they were bad. makes me sound so inconsiderate!

it's just that a couple of ppl thought that ur remarks about it were pretty snide so i just thought i'd clear that up. no biggy deal.

I picked all the 'cake' ones on purpose cuz I've tried the glazed ones, and personally, I like the ones I selected more.

Btw, why are the cream/jelly filled ones called 'cake' doughnuts?

Not a clue... I probably mislabelled them because I don't understand the difference, not being a Krispy Kreme connoiseur. =P
