*whimper* It didn't add itself to my Clients List =C *pout*

[Update - 1800h]

astral reminded me that the LJ Gang were doing some overhauling with the Client identification stuff. I think that means that my Clients Used list will get blown away.

*big sigh* I won't ever get some of those back. BeOS is toast, so unless Husband Guy has an old copy of his BeOS installer and is willing to let me find the hardware to set up for one stupid post, that one's gone. And that's assuming ALiveJournal Author Dude even updates it to use the new protocol.

I have no co-worker to steal a seldom used Palm from anymore so that I can use PocketLJ and HandheLJ.

And some of the old clients that have stopped development may or may not run under XP.

[Update - 1900h]

Oh, and while I'm being a pain in the ass, I may as well stick all the negative energy into one post.

Work gave me WinXP today... that's not exactly a happy thing. It's only mitigated slightly by the fact that I also got a 120 Gig drive and two more 512 globs of memory. Now I'm wasting five thousand years installing all my tools, .NET farkitty-farks, Office XP, language packs, messing with everything that's _just_slightly_ different from Win2K. >K{

And the History dialogue in Semagic isn't reading the Subjects under WinXP. All I get is the first X number of bytes from the ENTRY... which is what it does when it sees no subject. The problem is, the first X bytes will always be my Currents Table, so all my posts look the same from the History list. semaAlexei isn't doing any more development on Semagic, so it's pointless to dig too hard to find bug reports from anyone else using it on XP with the same problem.

*BLOW RASPBERRY* >KP >KP >KP

[Update - Tuesday, May 27, 2003 - 1210h]

Okay, so the Subjects just got blasted yesterday. They were partially fixed this morning and completely fixed by now.

Today is going a little better because slowly, I'm pounding my new XP machine into something usable. I should be happy with 1½/3...

Semagic history, as well as the regular Win32 client are both doing that for me too, although on Win98.

That guy used to live down the hall from me, and the code's still
on our house's servers. Though he's pretty much given up on Be
like everyone else at this point.

Re:
Yeah, I bumbled over and saw that =( I told Sean Graham that I thought it was too bad... I took a copy of the ALJ source so if I get a hot blue bolt of inspiration I may play with it =)
