Sometimes they're sold together, sometimes they're sold separately. If they were meant to match (like shoes and socks) would they not be pinned together and sold as a set? And who, exactly, is supposed to check to see that I'm not wearing black Joe Boxer ladies' briefs with a navy blue lacy bra?

</a></b></a> doesn't care about anything having to match either. "It's all coming off anyway," he says.

Yeah. Thanks, Dude.

... not that it makes any difference as to the matching part of things, but for some inexplicable reason(*) hospital greens ("scrubs") have this charming slit on the side that gives patients and coworkers a lovely show of whatever undies you happen to be wearing that day. Unless you make use of careful dressing measures, which most people don't. I could tell you on any day whether my consultant staff doctor wears boxers, briefs, or red panties. And that's without getting within four feet of them.

* - potential explanation: so you won't steal the things to wear to the bar. Though, that might not work, depending on what kind of bar...

If I'm trying to seduce a certain someone then I match. He digs on matching. Can't resist it. For everyday wear I don't care. But he can tell what time of the month it is by what kind of panties I'm wearing. Heh :)

Actually, a friend of mine told me that she (and her sister as well) will sometimes change her underwear in the morning to match her outer clothes for the day. She doesn't wear sheer clothing or anything, she says she does it just for self-satisfaction, knowing that she matches. Sometimes she and her sister will email or call each other to let the other one know that they did it for the day.

Some days I will make a point to match. But most of the time I grab whatever is on top. I have friends who will only wear matching sets and who go to the big bra sales at the department stores and then pick through everything to find a matching set. Personally, that's too much work for me.

Yeah, it's way too much work. I gave it a try a long time ago and either I freaked out at the price or one of the two pieces was always not available. =P

My only worry regarding matching is NOT to wear a dark coloured bra with a light coloured shirt (ditto for underwear)

Exactly. But otherwise, if it's under jeans and a sweater, who has to know? =)

Re: socks

I bought a bag of 16 pairs of black socks for something stupid like $5, about 5 years ago. I figured I mostly wear black, so that would most likely match whatever I'm wearing =D I'm down to 8 pairs now, but I've never had the widowed socks problem =) =)

It's all coming off anyway

Haha! That's what Robin has always told me, with respect to bras, underwear, lingerie, whatnot. Men are so practical.

Men are so practical.

I know... They're so predictable sometimes, it's funny! =D

I take matching to mean in colour. And almost all of my knickers and bras are black.

Yes, it could be colour or exact colour and material matching.

I don't wear panties, but I don't match my bras to my boxers, either, so I answered that way.
