Get gifts! Username:
Another fun meme brought to you by rfreebern.

I went with a Young Wives Club theme for this one. I only get 12 people at a time!!! =\ I'll have to come up with a theme for each time I do rfreebern's LJ things. I feel badly for wintersweet who, because her username starts with a 'w', is always stuck up a tree. =}

Oh yeah, I somehow yarked up the HTML really horribly in the post I made before, so I deleted it and re-posted. But that means I lost trigeekgirl's comment about breaking out the dirndl. =P

Oh, speaking of carols, I cannot let the Year End pass me by without singing :

Walkin' 'Round In Women's Underwear

Lacy things the wife is missin'
Didn't ask for her permission
I'm wearin' her clothes
Her silk pantyhose
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear

In the store there's a teddy
With little straps like spaghetti
It holds me so tight
Like handcuffs at night
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear

In the office there's a guy named Melvin
He pretends that I am Murphy Brown
He'll say "Are you ready?"
I'll say "Whoa, man!"
Let's wait until the wife is out of town

Later on if you wanna
We can dress like Madonna
Put on some eyeshade
And join the parade
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear

Lacy things the wife is missin'
Didn't ask for her permission
Wearin' her clothes
Silk pantyhose
Walkin' 'round in women's underwear

And, I have to play with this e-card every year: The Christmas Carolers from Blue Mountain Greetings. It's done in Flash. It's the simplest concept: they give you 15 cartoon carolers, each one sings a different note. You poke at their head and they will sing that one note for you. You get two octaves worth of notes.

I'll play with this for hours. I usually start with their Song Book and play what they have, then do the rest of the carol. Then I'll start figuring out other carols, other songs. Every year, I have to poke out what passes for Beethoven's Für Elise on these peoples' heads =) And every year, I will forget it, so that I have to come back and figure it all out again next year. =)

Oohhh-why am I glaring?

I had to laugh when I saw it was a "Young Wives" theme - the book popped in my head. It was written by the same lady that wrote "The First Wives Club" and it follows the same theme. Husbands were bad and the wives must get revenge. Good funny book though!

I think I saw bits of the movie when it was on Superchannel (or HBO or something). It's the one with Bette Midler, Diane Keaton, Goldie Hawn. I thought it was a hoot =)

I LOVE that movie. I worked in a draft house/theater when it first came out and had to see it a few times a day - and I still adore it! Young Wives is kind of along the same theme - except they're all in the 20s-30s. They are both awesome books!
