Don't mind me. I'm just playing and this needs to be public so I can see it in different browsers. IE 6.0 doesn't support the first four, so you'll only see squares instead of this.

<evangelize>Mozilla displays it perfectly though.</evangelize>

Transfinite cardinal... I still find the idea of countable infinites... aleph null, etc. I think there's a definite overlap between druggies and set theorists.

Definitely. There's just so many nasty exploits and crap out there for it. It really irritates me that I have to use it at work. All of my work is web-based, and hello, I work in fraud! We should be using something more inpenetrable than IE. Oy.

I love the concept of Firebird... if only they'd tighten up some of the resource usage =\

resource usage?

i use firebird in the office (IE for work, tho)..
firebird seems much faster than mozilla-the-suite, but recently i've had problems with it just not loading pages, and i've gotta kill the process...

Really? I find that Firebird uses slightly more CPU than just the browser component of Mozilla.

And they're both pretty hoggy... just scrolling will sometimes get the CPU usage up to max =P

I treat IE as a separate tool specifically for certain things. I don't use it as a general all purpose browser.

I hate MSIE and try to avoid it at all costs. I run a pretty slow computer (P3-450 128 MB RAM), and it seems to fly compared to MSIE, but that's what goes on here .. At least I know what's going on. I dunno .. What would you like to see though in Firebird not found in MSIE? The CPU requirements are quite interesting.. what are you running? --Ray

I have an AMD Athlon 1G (1.2G? I can't remember), 256M RAM at home and a P3 600-some, 512M at work.

I'm at home right now and Firebird 0.7 is at 38M for memory usage right now, peaked at 43.5M. That's a bit high for a browser, but I guess it's not too too bad. My Mozilla 1.5 peaks at 21M.

What gets my attention sometimes is I'll drag the scrollbar down (in both Mozilla and Firebird) and watch the CPU usage go up to 100%. Scrolling really shouldn't be doing that... =P

That's really really odd. My MSIE hovers over 30 MB, Mozilla hovers a little less, but more stable .. and Firebird .. hovers around 25 MB or so on my P3-450. =P

I don't really have any troubles with Mozilla/Firebird .. unless its some crappy MSIE designed site or something.... Things can only get better though. They've come quite a long way though. ;o) --Ray

I still like Mozilla/Firebird over IE (pronounced "aieeeee!!!"). Tabbed browsing, blocking the hell out of pop-ups and the keyword feature more than make up for it =)

Yeah ... I'm so in love with the *Open in background/new tab* feature. =) Makes flying through multiple webpages a breeze ;O)

It's also a lot less clutter in the taskbar =) I've gotten into the habit of mouse-wheel-clicking on everything now, even when I'm using IE... then I wonder why it doesn't work =D

The most hilarious is when I'm reading along and I middle-click on the links as I go so that they'll load while I read. Then I forget where the link in that tab came from XD

this never happens for me though...

speedwise..k meleon seems really good. but i don't use it regularly. i need extensions!

on older computers, like 300 mhz, firebird seems to work better than mozzie the suite..i dunno. ha.

I see squares on my Friends page in Opera 6, but symbols on the actual comment page. (Probably has something to do with the default font or something.)

Yeah, Opera 6 sucks, but (a) I paid for it (and not for Opera 7, which is supposedly a fair bit better in certain crucial bits such as JavaScript and CSS) and (b) Firebird tends to take too many GDI resources for my Win98 system; I run out after a while. And MSIE, well, is MSIE.

Verdana? Oh right, and the fonts have different glyph support between 98, 2K and XP.

Firebird tends to take too many GDI resources for my Win98 system

That must be what I'm seeing too. =P
