Category: Clothes - What looks best on a guy?
The Dr. Sun Yat-sen tunic suit (the 中山裝, zhōng shān zhuāng). Hands down. No question.
It's a casual Guangdong Province style from late 19th century. It has a smaller, more square mandarin collar that's turned downwards and four pockets (two breast pockets, two handwarmer pockets). It looks best in dark navy blue. I don't like it in khaki or green (ick, ick, ick).
It was chosen by Dr. Sun Yat-sen and the Nationalist Party as the national uniform after the revolution of 1911 to overthrow the Manchu dynasty. It's not a "Mao suit". Mao had nothing to do with it.
The first time I saw one was on Leon Lai when he starred in Song Bird opposite Nadia Chan. Then Jet Li, in Fist of Legend. Oh. My. God. Super. Hawt.
