Sparrow

weather: light showers
outside: 11.3°C
mood: aaaw...
It's always so cute when small animals accidentally wander into a mall. =)

I saw a squirrel at Oakridge once when I was in highschool. You feel really bad for the poor little buggers. They're all scared and confused. The trees, grass and the outside-ness just suddenly vanish. They're surrounded by a lot of cold, hard, flat surfaces and lots of big smelly two-legged animals lumbering around all over the place.

Yesterday, I saw a little brown sparrow bopping around the indoor fountain at Pacific Centre Mall on my lunch hour. It must have followed someone in through a door or came in when one of the service crew held something open too long.

It was really adorable =)

I was listening to a show on animal adaptation once, and they were talking about the intelligence of different bird species, and how they could measure one species against another. They mentioned some examples of smart birds including one group of birds that had figured out how to make the "electric eye" on a specific supermarket open the door; in and out.

Aaah, how cute. And what a magnificent fountain! Birds inside of the local supermarkets is actually not all that uncommon an occurance in Bellingham.

Hehe, it's also interesting to watch the different reactions of different people to the critters getting into places like that =D

birds in enclosed places freak me out.

the birds themselves are panicky, and when they are they start attacking people

at least they did in my dream.

and once in my home, it did some crashing around the room and windows
