Pressed Pennies

I found some pressed penny machine locations in Vancouver. I was going to bugger off early (ie. 5:00pm) from work and get some for latraviata. I don't know if I want to start collecting or trading. I wouldn't give out my snail address to just anyone (I trust latraviata, but I don't really know anyone else in pennypress), so I'd have to get a PO box (Mailboxes Etc. comes to mind). The only problem with that is I'm too cheap to get one just for the purposes of trading a few pressed pennies =P

A while ago, B got one for the community service club I belong to. I'm going to ask her if I can share it... either pay her "per shipment" or if I start using it a lot, I'll pay half the monthly fee.

i've infected you!

when i don't want to give out my home address, i tend to give out my work's p.o. box. but it might look strange if you're getting packages all the time there.

my work thinks it's weird i send out so many postcards every day from here. but i don't mind the questions so much about them.

if you want to email me your address, i will send you some pennies.

Denial... for the moment =)
No! You haven't infected me!!! =D

I was just going to get two of each penny design. One for you and one for me.

Then I wondered if anyone else on pennypress would like to trade. Then I thought about how I would trade and decided that the PO box would be the deciding factor on whether or not I could trade.

But I'm still mulling over it because I've tried to collect various things in the past, but I only end up with a partial collection of things I don't need and the guilty feeling that I've spent way too much good money that could have been put to better use.

I may just get one of each penny for you and not keep any for myself even.

i think you should at least get the pennies for yourself too. when i wasn't a "serious" collector, i just get them as souvenirs from places i went to. it was good enough for me for over 10 years (yeah, i got my first penny in jr. high school).

if you want to, you can get a whole bunch (maybe 4 of each design) and send three over to me. only 2 people really trade in pennypress (that's pigri and djjazzyjess). i can ask them to send me stuff for those coins and then i'll mail it all out to you. but it could take a while.

i never seriously collected anything in my life and i guess i'm giving in to this "everyone needs a hobby" thing. heh. ;0

btw- i meant to ask you what you thought of enterprise.

yep! and plus, it's great that others outside of l.a. would be willing to take pity on my somewhat obsessive soul and get them for me. hehe!

I could be just the Vancouver Penny Relay Person for pennypress.

If I can figure out how much it would cost me to get pennies and send them to various people/places, I'd be willing to go and get them by request. And I do have a PayPal account...

Hmmm... I wonder if there are any fees to receive money from PayPal... I wonder how easy it would be...

Re: Or...
i thought pal pal took a portion of what you received? i could be wrong but that's why i haven't signed up for it.

i could post to pennypress to see what the interest would be to get vancouver coins. i'm sure there would be a definite interest.
